Bodø International School has been in operation since autumn 2025 and has already established itself as an important educational offering for both international and locally rooted families in the region. The school currently offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP), and from autumn 2026 the programme portfolio will expand to include the Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are now looking for a leader who can build on the solid foundation that has been established and continue to develop the school in line with IB values and national regulatory requirements.

About the Position

As Principal / Managing Director of Bodø International School, you will have overall responsibility for the school’s pedagogical, administrative, and strategic development. You will lead a young and growing organisation with high ambitions for quality, learning environment, and international standards.

The school is approved by the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training as a full international primary and lower secondary school (Grades 1–10) within the International Baccalaureate framework, with capacity for up to 220 students.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall leadership: Full responsibility for school operations, organisation, and continued development

• Educational leadership: Ensure coherent development and high quality across the school’s IB programmes, in line with the IB framework, the requirements of the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training, and the school’s strategic goals.

• Finance and administration: Budgeting, financial management, and resource prioritisation
• People management: Lead, recruit, and further develop the school’s teaching and administrative staff
• Stakeholder relations: Collaborate with parents, the board, public authorities, and national and international partners

We Are Looking for Someone Who Has

• Relevant leadership experience, preferably from education, schools, or similar knowledge-based organisations

• Relevant formal education in pedagogy, educational leadership or a related field, combined with pedagogical experience from a school or the education sector.

• The ability to lead change and development while creating direction and engagement
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• An interest in – and preferably experience with – international education and network building
• Strong proficiency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken
