Do you want to join a strong in-house compliance team, safeguarding Hydro’s integrity and protecting data privacy? 

Hydro’s Group Compliance department is responsible for our compliance system and has a particular governance role for anti-corruption, data privacy, economic sanctions, and anti-money laundering. We support the entire organization in successfully developing and running Hydro’s business and strategies in a responsible way, with high integrity, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and Hydro’s governing documents.

We now seek to strengthen the Oslo team with a compliance professional with experience within data privacy.

About the job

You will work closely with the Head of Data Privacy to support in managing and supervising the data privacy compliance program in Hydro, globally. This includes to monitor compliance with our binding corporate rules (BCR) and engage with other stakeholders on complex, cross-border data privacy matters, as well as to conduct privacy risk assessments and provide advice to the business when needed.

You may also conduct trainings and support the organization in other compliance matters.

Your qualifications

  • Preferably 3-8  years’ relevant experience working with data privacy laws, particularly the GDPR, for instance in-house, in a law firm, or a consultancy firm. 
  • Law degree with strong academic qualifications. Other degrees can also be relevant.
  • Knowledge of Norwegian data protection and labor legislation is an advantage. 
  • Experience with data privacy topics related to information- and cyber security.
  • Proactive user of new technology and digital tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, e.g. from projects and stakeholder interaction in complex settings.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Additional Norwegian or Portuguese language skills will be considered as an advantage.
